Projects Grants support organizations delivering anti-racism initiatives that address systemic racism, promote public awareness, strengthen research and education, and foster cultural and intercultural community-building across Canada. Projects must take place between April 1, 2027, and March 31, 2028.

Eligible Projects

Projects must align with one or more of the following themes:

• Reducing systemic racial barriers
• Research and education on race relations
• Public awareness and policy development
• Cultural and intercultural community-building

Projects must also achieve one or more of the following outcomes:

• Increase awareness of anti-racism, race relations or anti-hate issues
• Increase awareness of Canada's cultural diversity
• Address barriers related to race, ethnicity, culture or religion
• Increase community knowledge and capacity to address racism and discrimination

Projects with a public policy focus are encouraged but are not required.

Eligible Expenses

• Personnel and staffing
• Workshops, meetings and events
• Speaker honoraria
• Venue and equipment costs
• Marketing and communications
• Transportation
• Consultant and contractor services
• Project evaluation
• Administrative and overhead costs (up to 15%)
• Ineligible Expenses

Funding cannot be used for:

• Direct financial assistance to individuals
• Partisan political activities
• Real estate purchases
• Operating deficits
• Alcohol
• Shelter or housing beds
• Contingency
• GST/HST/PST listed as separate budget items
• Health services covered by provincial authorities
• Time to Complete Projects
