New to the Portal: Food Hub Program

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Food Hub Program offers funding to expand, modernize or establish food hubs that connect local food producers with markets and strengthen regional food supply chains.

Eligible projects can receive up to $25 million per organization. Activities may include facility construction and upgrades, food storage and processing equipment, digital infrastructure, supply chain improvements and logistics capacity.

Funding details:

  • AAFC normally contributes up to 50% of eligible costs, and applicants must provide at least 50%.
  • Contributions may be non-repayable or repayable, depending on the recipient and project benefits.
  • Applicants must first submit a Food-Link Fund Expression of Interest (EOI). Projects that fit the Food Hub Program may be invited to submit a full application.

Deadline: December 11, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. The intake may close earlier if funding is fully committed.
