The Age-Friendly Communities Grant is now open for applications from Nova Scotia organizations and communities working to help older adults stay active, healthy, connected and engaged.

The Government of Nova Scotia offers two types of funding:

– Project funding: Up to $10,000 for most projects, with up to $20,000 available for larger-scale, more complex or provincial initiatives.
– Planning funding: Up to $25,000 to support needs assessments, community engagement and the development of age-friendly community plans.

Eligible projects: social and recreational activities, intergenerational programs, physical activity and healthy eating initiatives, community meals, digital literacy, transportation and outreach. Planning projects must include an active local government partner and meaningfully engage older adults and relevant community partners.

Eligible applicants: registered not-for-profit community organizations, local governments (including municipalities and Mi’kmaq Band Councils), Nova Scotia universities and not-for-profit post-secondary institutions, and schools applying through their appropriate education authority.

Deadline: November 19, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. AST. Late applications will not be accepted.
