The Innovative Communities Fund (ICF) supports projects that build the economies of communities in Atlantic Canada, with a focus on long-term employment and stronger local economies.
The fund enables communities to:
Develop thriving industry sectors
Strengthen infrastructure in rural areas
Invest in projects that help communities overcome economic issues and take advantage of new opportunities
Project Requirements
To be considered for ICF funding, project proposals must:
Clearly explain links and partnerships within the community
Address challenges and opportunities in the area
Have the potential to lead to economic growth
Be over and above regular activities (not part of ongoing operations)
Have a clear end date
Show that the organization has the skills and resources needed to manage related activities
Investments under the Innovative Communities Fund are non-repayable contributions. The amount provided is based on the level of funding each project needs to proceed.
