Description

The Innovative Communities Fund (ICF) supports projects that build the economies of communities in Atlantic Canada, with a focus on long-term employment and stronger local economies.

The fund enables communities to:

  • Develop thriving industry sectors
  • Strengthen infrastructure in rural areas
  • Invest in projects that help communities overcome economic issues and take advantage of new opportunities

Project Requirements

To be considered for ICF funding, project proposals must:

  • Clearly explain links and partnerships within the community
  • Address challenges and opportunities in the area
  • Have the potential to lead to economic growth
  • Be over and above regular activities (not part of ongoing operations)
  • Have a clear end date
  • Show that the organization has the skills and resources needed to manage related activities

Investments under the Innovative Communities Fund are non-repayable contributions. The amount provided is based on the level of funding each project needs to proceed.
