Description

The Organizational Capacity Building (OCB) component provides funding to eligible organizations to build and strengthen their internal capacity to meet the objectives of the Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Program.

This component supports initiatives that help eligible organizations:

  • develop governance, management, or administrative capacity to deliver anti-racism or inclusion programming more effectively
  • improve planning, reporting, or performance measurement systems
  • increase staff training and skills in areas such as equity, inclusion and community engagement
  • enhance outreach and collaboration with equity-deserving communities across Canada

Funded projects are expected to result in sustainable organizational improvements that enable recipients to continue advancing multiculturalism and anti-racism objectives beyond the funding period.

Eligible Projects:

This component specifically targets projects that build or strengthen an organization's capacity to operate and will help achieve one or more of the following expected results:

  • Improved financial management
  • Stronger human resource capacity (both staff and volunteers)
  • Enhanced governing practices
  • Increased partnership and networking abilities
  • Creation or improvement of strategic plans

Application Limit:

Organizations may submit only one application to the Organizational Capacity Building component per call for proposals.

Enhanced Protocols:

Canadian Heritage has implemented enhanced protocols to ensure that organizations adopting racist, antisemitic, or other forms of hateful content are not eligible for government funding.
