The Organizational Capacity Building (OCB) component provides funding to eligible organizations to build and strengthen their internal capacity to meet the objectives of the Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Program.
This component supports initiatives that help eligible organizations:
develop governance, management, or administrative capacity to deliver anti-racism or inclusion programming more effectively
improve planning, reporting, or performance measurement systems
increase staff training and skills in areas such as equity, inclusion and community engagement
enhance outreach and collaboration with equity-deserving communities across Canada
Funded projects are expected to result in sustainable organizational improvements that enable recipients to continue advancing multiculturalism and anti-racism objectives beyond the funding period.
Eligible Projects:
This component specifically targets projects that build or strengthen an organization's capacity to operate and will help achieve one or more of the following expected results:
Improved financial management
Stronger human resource capacity (both staff and volunteers)
Enhanced governing practices
Increased partnership and networking abilities
Creation or improvement of strategic plans
Application Limit:
Organizations may submit only one application to the Organizational Capacity Building component per call for proposals.
Enhanced Protocols:
Canadian Heritage has implemented enhanced protocols to ensure that organizations adopting racist, antisemitic, or other forms of hateful content are not eligible for government funding.
