Description

The Sustainable Affordable Housing (SAH) initiative will reopen funding on a limited basis to support affordable housing retrofit projects at the pre-construction stage. The program will provide grants to help housing providers undertake studies, planning, and other preparatory activities that advance energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable retrofit projects.

The funding is intended to help organizations embed energy performance and sustainability considerations early in project development, strengthening project readiness and supporting future retrofit implementation.

Objectives

  • Advance environmentally sustainable affordable housing retrofits.
  • Support project planning and pre-construction activities.
  • Improve energy efficiency outcomes in affordable housing projects.
  • Build organizational capacity to develop and implement retrofit projects.

Eligible Projects
Eligible activities are expected to include pre-construction planning and study work related to affordable housing retrofit projects. Additional project eligibility details will be announced when the program reopens.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants are expected to include affordable housing providers. Full applicant eligibility requirements will be released in a future program update.
