Description

Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility (EDIA) Funding is designed to help strengthen, sustain, grow or improve unique community sport programs across Nova Scotia. The program supports traditionally underrepresented communities in their efforts to increase participation in community-based sport programming.

Target Populations:

The fund supports the following traditionally underrepresented communities:

  • Black/African Nova Scotian Community
  • Indigenous Peoples
  • Persons with Physical Disabilities
  • Persons with Cognitive Disabilities
  • Newcomers
  • 2SLGBTQIA+
  • Women & Girls
  • Diverse Cultural and Racialized Groups
  • Financially Disadvantaged Nova Scotians

Partnership Requirement (Critical):

All organizations applying must have a partner and include the Elements of a Partnership Agreement specifying the nature of the partnership. A sport organization must have a community service partner. A community service organization must have a sport partner.

Eligible Costs:

  • Program fees
  • Facility rental fees
  • Equipment (large or small)
  • Coach or Instructor Education and Capacity Development
  • Transportation within community

Important Notes:

All Sport Nova Scotia community grants follow the organization's per diem and mileage rates.
