Description

Launched in Fall 2021, the For the Good of Our Community Fund is a pillar of NSLC's community investment program, awarding grants ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 to selected charitable or non-profit organizations in Nova Scotia. Since its establishment, the fund has invested more than $725,000 and supported 52 organizations focused on creating positive, lasting impacts throughout the province.

The fund supports organizations working to address areas of critical community need within Nova Scotia, with projects and initiatives that align with NSLC's investment focus area of community wellbeing. The fund is financed equally between the NSLC and supplier partners.

Applications are reviewed by NSLC's Employee Community Advisory Committee, comprised of team members from across the province, who approve final grant recipients.

Eligible Focus Areas:

  • Increase food security
  • Improve access to affordable shelter or housing
  • Support positive health outcomes including mental health
  • Steward the preservation of natural resources
