Description

The Foreign Credential Recognition Program (FCRP) supports provincial and territorial governments, regulatory bodies, professional associations and other eligible organizations with projects that help skilled newcomers integrate into their field of study or related occupations in Canada.

The program prioritizes projects that are national in scope, address skill shortages in priority occupations and sectors, and align with provincial or territorial government priorities.

Program does not fund individuals directly. Funding is provided to eligible organizations that deliver programs supporting skilled newcomer integration.

Eligible Project Focus Areas:

Projects may include:

  • Research, analysis or pilot testing of new approaches to reduce entry-to-practice barriers
  • Development and implementation of tools for credential assessment and recognition
  • Pan-Canadian certification or licensure pathways to enhance labour mobility
  • Gap training courses or programs for targeted occupations and sectors
  • Alternative career pathways and employment support services for skilled newcomers

Key Project Requirements:

  • Projects must demonstrate measurable results tied to FCRP objectives
  • Applicants must report progress using key performance indicators
  • In-kind and financial contributions from applicants are encouraged
  • Multi-faceted proposals should include clear steps, milestones and sub-objectives
