NARF Projects Grants support organizations delivering anti-racism initiatives that address systemic racism, promote public awareness, strengthen research and education, and foster cultural and intercultural community-building across Canada. Projects must take place between April 1, 2027, and March 31, 2028.

Deadline to submit an Expression of Interest: September 2, 2026.

Green Municipal Fund funding supports affordable housing providers in developing retrofit pathway studies that guide energy-efficient building upgrades over time. Rather than focusing on a single deep retrofit, these studies evaluate phased retrofit options over 10- and 20-year periods, helping organizations integrate energy efficiency into asset management and capital planning.

Green Municipal Fund funding helps affordable housing providers complete the assessments and planning needed before undertaking deep energy retrofit projects. Grants support pre-construction activities that evaluate technical, financial, and implementation approaches to achieve significant energy savings and greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions.

Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada has opened the application portal for shovel-ready projects under the Build Communities Strong Fund – Direct Delivery stream. Eligible projects must be ready to begin construction before the end of 2026. Applications are due July 15, 2026 (or August 12, 2026 for Indigenous and territorial applicants).

Projects that are not yet shovel-ready may still be submitted as an Expression of Interest for future consideration.

The OHPR Community Fund supports community-led projects that recruit, welcome, and retain healthcare professionals in Nova Scotia. Funding is available for initiatives that improve recruitment efforts, reduce social and cultural barriers, and create welcoming communities. Priority is given to projects that provide orientation and settlement supports for healthcare professionals, particularly internationally educated healthcare professionals (IEHPs), and address communities with the greatest recruitment needs.

The Biodiversity Restoration Initiative supports tree-planting and habitat-restoration projects that help reverse biodiversity loss across Canada. Through Tree Canada’s National Greening Program, funding and technical support are available for projects that restore ecosystems, improve wildlife habitat, enhance biodiversity, strengthen ecological resilience, and support the recovery of Species at Risk.

The National Anti-Racism Fund (NARF) Events and Youth Initiatives Grants support community-based events and youth-led or youth-focused initiatives that advance anti-racism, inclusion, intercultural understanding, and community engagement across Canada. Funding is available for conferences, workshops, festivals, exhibits, reconciliation activities, and other public events that address systemic racism, support research and education, raise public awareness, or promote cultural and intercultural community-building.

The Energy Innovation Program’s Innovation Ecosystem Enablers stream supports projects that strengthen Canada’s energy innovation ecosystem and accelerate the development and commercialization of clean energy technologies. The current focus area funds new, expanded, or modernized testing and validation facilities that address gaps in Canada’s energy innovation infrastructure. Projects must provide broadly accessible testing services, demonstrate long-term operational sustainability, and support technology validation, certification, prototyping, demonstration, or scale-up activities. The program aims to strengthen Canada’s innovation capacity, reduce reliance on foreign testing facilities, and support the transition of clean energy solutions from development to deployment.

The Capacity Development Partner Grants program supports organizations that deliver technical training and capacity-building activities for local governments. Through GMF’s Local Leadership for Climate Adaptation initiative, funding is available to design and deliver training that helps municipalities and Indigenous communities assess climate risks, integrate adaptation into plans and systems, implement climate resilience projects, and explore innovative approaches to financing adaptation initiatives.

The Green Municipal Fund’s Sustainable Affordable Housing (SAH) initiative is preparing to reopen pre-construction grant funding for affordable housing retrofit projects.

While funding for capital and pilot projects remains closed, a full program update is expected in summer 2026, including details on eligibility, grant amounts, and application timelines.

In the meantime, municipalities and housing providers can continue to access SAH’s free planning, training, and technical support services.

The Build Communities Strong Fund (BCSF) – Local Impact Stream provides funding for small-scale infrastructure projects that enhance community spaces and systems used by Atlantic Canadians. The program supports public-use infrastructure that delivers economic, social, and environmental benefits while improving community resilience to climate change. ACOA will deliver nearly $76 million over four years through this stream.

The CRTC Broadband Fund supports projects that expand or improve broadband connectivity in underserved areas of Canada. Through Call 4, funding is available for projects that provide new or upgraded fixed broadband Internet service that meets or exceeds 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds, as well as certain projects serving satellite-dependent communities. The program aims to advance universal access to reliable high-speed Internet, prioritize efficient use of public funding, and reduce duplication with other publicly funded broadband initiatives.

Application Deadline: August 13, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. ADT.

This grant supports community-based projects that enhance the social inclusion, participation, and well-being of seniors. Projects of up to $50,000 must align with one of five objectives: encouraging senior volunteering, promoting mentorship, raising awareness of elder abuse, increasing social participation, or improving facilities and spaces for seniors through capital assistance. Capital projects must also support at least one additional objective and may allocate up to $25,000 toward eligible capital expenses.

Application Deadline: July 14, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. ADT.

Accessible Canada – National AccessAbility Week Funding is available for projects that promote accessibility and disability inclusion through National AccessAbility Week activities across Canada.

Eligible organizations can apply for up to $180,000 for scalable projects or up to $360,000 for regional or national initiatives. The program is open to disability-serving non-profits, municipalities, educational institutions, health and social service organizations, and Indigenous organizations.
